Anglo Saxons lived long ago

They came from Europe, see how they row

Landed in Anglia, in the East

To celebrate, they had a feast.

Wooden house were what they built

They drove out the Celts and felt no guilt

Used helmets, armour, sword and shields

And when they were done, they farmed their fields

Anglo Saxons...yeah

Anglo Saxons lived long ago

They worked their farms with spade and hoe

When a King died, or so they wrote

They buried his body, treasure and boat.

Gold jewellery and coins, both things they like

King Offa was famous, for his dyke

Most of the treasure rotted away

But some has survived to the present day.
